Water is an essential resource for life on our planet! Therefore, the Bio Extratus Group adopts several attitudes to ensure the preservation of water resources.

The actions we have implemented, which guarantee efficient water management, are concentrated in three main lines of action:

1. The preservation and recovery of water sources.
2. Conscious consumption and the fight against waste.
3. The proper treatment of wastewater.

1. Preservation and Recovery of Water Springs

We have invested in planting more than 35,000 native or fruit trees around our factory, which guarantees an extension of 33.9 hectares of area dedicated exclusively to environmental preservation. In addition, on this site, we have built a set of 11 ponds whose total area represents 17,000 m² of water. In addition to providing beautiful landscapes, this investment helps maintain and increase the availability of water tables.

2. Conscious Consumption and Fight Against Waste

In our manufacturing process, we use only the volume of water strictly necessary for the task; and not a drop more. We promote the reuse of water during the various stages of the process where it is possible to do so.

Our employees undergo periodic training that makes them aware of the importance of taking care of water inside and outside the company.

There is intelligent management of the water resources that are used to irrigate our extensive green area; which includes everything from the use of low-pressure sprinklers to defining the best time to water lawns and flowerbeds.

A network of approximately 1.5 km of ventilated and illuminated galleries has been built through which all the company's essential piping passes. In this way, the hydraulic network is monitored daily by the maintenance team and leaks are avoided and/or eliminated.
